ACCREDITATION
The University of the Virgin Islands is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education (Visit the CHE web site for current details.) of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104, Phone: 215-662-5606. The Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation.
What is accreditation?
Accreditation is an approval of schools, colleges and universities by nationally recognized professional associations or regional accrediting bodies. Those accrediting bodies ensure that the school, college or university meets established qualifications and education standards, as determined through initial and periodic evaluations.
UVI is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The Commission on Higher Education is an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation. UVI Receives Reaffirmation of Accreditation Through 2026
In a letter dated June 26, 2017, the Middle States Commission on Higher Education indicated that the Commission acted to reaffirm accreditation for the University of the Virgin Islands until the year 2026, with follow-up.
